This Cookie Policy explains how SkillPlatform ("we", "our", "us") uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms on skillplatform.ai. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

SkillPlatform uses minimal tracking. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers. The storage mechanisms described below are strictly necessary for the service to function or are used by essential third-party services we rely on.

What it is: When you sign in, we store your authentication token in your browser's sessionStorage — not in a cookie. This is a browser-native key-value store that is isolated to the current tab.

Purpose: To keep you logged in while you navigate the application during your current browser session.

Duration: Cleared automatically when you close the browser tab or window. It does not persist across sessions or devices.

How to clear: Close the browser tab, or use your browser's developer tools (Application → Session Storage → Clear).

What it is: We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on our registration and login pages to detect and block automated bot traffic. reCAPTCHA is an invisible service — it runs in the background without requiring you to solve a puzzle.

Cookies set by Google: reCAPTCHA sets cookies (e.g., _GRECAPTCHA) to collect device and browser fingerprint signals for bot detection. These are set by Google's domains.

Purpose: Security — preventing automated account creation and credential stuffing.

Data processed by Google: Browser/device information, IP address, mouse movements, and timing signals. This data is processed under Google's Privacy Policy.

Duration: Session cookies and persistent cookies as set by Google (typically up to 6 months for the persistent signal cookie).

What it is: When you subscribe to a paid plan or visit our checkout page, Stripe — our payment processor — sets cookies to prevent fraud and ensure secure payment sessions.

Cookies set by Stripe: __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid, and others. These are set on Stripe's domain during the checkout flow.

Purpose: Fraud detection and payment session security. Stripe requires these for PCI-DSS compliance.

Data processed by Stripe: Device identifiers and session signals. We never see your full card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

Duration: __stripe_sid is a session cookie (cleared when tab closes). __stripe_mid persists for 1 year.

• No advertising or retargeting cookies
• No cross-site tracking cookies
• No cookies from social media platforms (Facebook Pixel, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
• No Google Analytics cookies (we may use server-side analytics that do not set cookies)

Because we only use strictly necessary third-party cookies (reCAPTCHA for security, Stripe for payments), disabling these cookies may break core functionality:

• Blocking reCAPTCHA cookies may prevent registration and login from completing
• Blocking Stripe cookies may prevent checkout from completing

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies from specific domains. Note that blocking cookies set by third-party domains (google.com, stripe.com) while allowing our domain (skillplatform.ai) will give you the most control without breaking the service.

We will update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove third-party services that set cookies. Material changes will be announced on the website. Continued use of SkillPlatform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
