Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SkillPlatform ("we", "our", "us") at skillplatform.ai, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service and AI Disclaimer
SkillPlatform is an AI-powered interview preparation platform. It allows users to practice job interviews via voice, with real-time speech-to-text transcription, AI-generated questions, and AI-evaluated feedback. Sessions may be recorded (audio and/or video) for the purpose of generating transcripts and performance evaluations.
AI-Generated Content Disclaimer: All interview questions, follow-up prompts, and performance evaluations on this platform are generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT). AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or not representative of real interview questions at any specific company or role. This service is for practice purposes only and does not constitute professional career advice, hiring decisions, assessments, or endorsements of any kind. Do not rely on AI feedback as an authoritative measure of your qualifications or employability.
No Guarantee of Outcomes: Using SkillPlatform does not guarantee job interview success, job offers, or any particular career outcome.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. One account per person — sharing accounts or creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited.
You must verify your email address to use the full service. We may suspend accounts that provide false information or violate these terms.
4. Subscription Plans and Billing
Plans available:
- Basic – $9/month: 10 interview sessions per month (up to 30 minutes each)
- Premium – $30/month: 50 interview sessions per month (up to 30 minutes each)
Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis. Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via your account billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access through the period you paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months.
Refunds: Once an interview session has been used in a billing period, that period is non-refundable. If you have not used any sessions in the current period, contact us within 7 days of the charge at support@skillplatform.ai to request a refund.
Interview limits: Unused interview sessions do not carry over to the next billing period. Limits reset on your subscription renewal date.
All billing is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. If payment fails, your account will enter a grace period; continued failure will result in downgrade to a free tier with no interview access.
5. Recording and Transcription Consent
By starting an interview session, you explicitly consent to the following:
- Audio recording & transcription: Your microphone audio is captured and streamed in real-time to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text to produce a live transcript of your answers. Audio streams are processed transiently and are not stored by Google after processing. The resulting transcript text is stored in our database for up to 90 days.
- Video recording: If your session has video enabled, your camera feed is recorded and stored encrypted in Google Cloud Storage for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted. Video is used only to generate performance feedback and is not shared, published, or used for advertising.
- Pose detection: During sessions with proctoring enabled, your video feed is analyzed locally in your browser using TensorFlow.js PoseNet to detect boundary violations (e.g., leaving the camera frame). This analysis runs entirely on your device — no pose data is transmitted to our servers.
Recordings are used exclusively to generate transcripts and evaluate your interview performance. No recordings are used for advertising, model training, or shared with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may request deletion of your recordings and transcripts at any time by emailing info@skillplatform.ai. If you do not consent to being recorded, do not start an interview session.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to access or interact with the service
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract content from the platform in bulk
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the service to third parties
- Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account
- Submit harmful, illegal, or abusive content during interview sessions
- Interfere with the security, stability, or availability of the service
- Attempt to circumvent interview session limits by creating multiple accounts
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account found to be in violation of these policies without refund.
7. Intellectual Property
SkillPlatform and its content (UI, question templates, evaluation rubrics, branding) are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Your interview recordings and transcripts remain your data. We hold a limited license to process them solely to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for retention and deletion details.
8. Third-Party Services
The service relies on third-party providers including OpenAI (AI evaluation), Google Cloud (speech processing, storage), and Stripe (payments). Your use of the service is also subject to the relevant terms of these providers. We are not liable for outages or errors caused by third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkillPlatform shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
